This year at CRCS in the upper grades, we are learning about the elements of art (line, value, shape, form, texture, color and space) in a more academic way.   We look at various pieces of art and see the variety of ways different artists use the elements to create their work.  We then do art exercises to practice some of those techniques, and end with a final piece that displays the element for the day.

CRCS

CRCS students are encouraged to participate in a Community Service Project each semester.  On Monday, December 2^nd, 2009, several CRCS students and family members visited the Westchester Care Center nursing home to bring cheer, sing carols, give gifts and pray for the residents there.  Several of the students also presented special music on the piano and the harp.  This is just one example of what kinds of opportunities families have on Home Based Learning (HBL) school days.   This com...

Make this easy Christmas, colorful, yummy dessert for the season.  Be sure to buy the ice cream early; some stores may run out closer to Christmas

2 1/2 rows of oreos, crushed in food processor with
1 stick of melted butter

1/2 gallon peppermint ice cream, softened at room temperature about 1 hour
