1. Statement Of Faith
We believe:

  • In one God - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • That the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
  • That man is born with a fallen nature, and is therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.
  • That the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
  • That the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
  • That believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • That the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.
  • That our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

2. Philosophy Of Education
The CrossRoads Community School foundational philosophy of education:

  • Teaches a biblical view (see Statement of Faith)
  • Teaches everything in light and through the filter of Scripture
  • Upholds the behavioral and character standards of a godly home
  • Respects the parents’ role as the God-ordained trainers of their children
  • Provides godly role models whose lives are strong in character and personal discipline
  • Provides positive peer influence, with older children demonstrating spiritual growth

3. Covenant - School & Family
Member families agree to:

  • Honor the school’s philosophy and operating policies.
  • Abstain from promoting or encouraging any philosophy/teaching contrary to the school’s Statement of Faith or Philosophy of Education.
  • Abide by school administration decisions with respect to policy and/or conduct issues.
  • Home school by a parent or legal guardian two days per week (particularly on Wednesday) using the materials and instruction provided by the teacher.
  • Participate as a family in outreach that complements school philosophy. Students and/or families will present outreach experiences in the classroom once a semester.
  • Serve at least 4 hours per month to support the needs of the school as coordinated by the administration. This school service may be a combination of time in the classroom and in non-classroom capacities (such as lunch aid, arrival/dismissal support, nursery duty, etc.).
  • Offer a family service to the school (such as field trip coordination, yearbook coordination, reading incentive program, etc.).
  • Communicate regularly with teacher on student progress – spiritually, academically, physically, and emotionally.
  • Promptly pay tuition and fees per payment schedule.
  • Remember that they are a reflection of CrossRoads Community School

4. Code Of Conduct
CRCS strives to be a place where character development receives as much attention as intellectual development. Respect, honor, and preciousness of others are core values being emphasized. Accordingly, a code of conduct will be established in the Student Handbook for all involved with the school – students, parents, teachers, and administrators. For example:

Character Trait Example

Responsibility - Come to class prepared and arrive on time

Consideration - Be courteous to others in attitude, words, and actions

Respect - Respect for authority, age, peers, property, and nature

Self-control - Contribute to an orderly classroom

Obedience - Obey school authorities and rules

5. Displinary Procedures
Disciplinary procedures will be included in the Student Handbook to be published prior to the start of the school year. Proper student discipline requires the cooperation of teachers, administrators, and parents. The basic approach will be to set expectations high – and not establish a pattern where excessive chances or warnings are given.

School personnel will not administer corporal punishment (spanking) of any kind. Since discipline and godly character are important aspects of the CrossRoads Community School purpose, disciplinary procedures can ultimately result in expulsion.

Discipline Escalation:

  • Teacher addresses issue with student using the classroom system of the teacher’s choice
  • Teacher involves parent if student does not respond to correction
  • Teacher escalates to administration for high severity or habitual issues
    1. Parent potentially requested to be in classroom for extended monitoring
    2. Possible suspension
  • Teacher/administration escalate to CRCS Committee
    1. Possible expulsion
